Morning pages I’ve been really good with my morning pages although yesterday I struggled because I thought I had nothing to say… I “thought” and then it all came pouring out..
Affirmations are also going well.. I really doubted myself that I could do that when will I ever learn to stop doubting myself?!
Artist Date scares me.. it really does.. but I’ll work on it next week!
weekly tasks I re-read the opening of the book and realised that she mentioned to look thru the excersizes and pick out the ones that “attracted you and the ones that repelled you” not do everyone! which is what I did… so anyways I’m doing ok. My favourite of the tasks has been to date, “choose 5 other lives you’d lead” I was surprised at how much I wrote reone of my “other” lives.. I am seeing a direction becoming clear!!

The Basic Tools
There are two pivotal tools in creative recovery: the morning pages and the artist date. A lasting creative awakening requires the consistent use of both. I like to introduce them both immediately, and at sufficient length to answer most of your questions. This chapter explains these tools carefully and in depth. Please read it with special care and begin the immediate use of both tools.
In order to retrieve your creativity, you need to find it. I ask you to do this by an apparently pointless process I call the morning pages.
You will do the pages daily through all the weeks of the course and, I hope, much longer. I have been doing them for a decade now. I have students who have worked with them nearly that long and who would no more abandon them than breathing.
Morning Pages
Morning Pages are three pages of longhand, stream of consciousness writing, done first thing in the morning. There is no wrong way to do Morning Pages—they are not high art. They are about anything and everything that crosses your mind—and they are for your eyes only.
The Artist Date
The Artist Date is a once-weekly, festive, solo expedition to explore something that interests you. The Artist Date need not be overtly “artistic”—think mischief more than mastery

The Artist way buy Julia Cameron.
I’ll ead it all the way through and then begin working on the excersizes, although after reading some of the earlier postings on here I’ve already started doing the three handwritten pages each morning. So that will be easy, but I’ve decided to start a new journal JUST for The Artist Way things.

I havent got my book yet but I know from “spiral” I’m supposed to write thre pages each morning.
My questions are “Do you use prompts, or just random thoughts?”
What inspires you to write three pages?
and are you using them as double sided pages or single fronted pages LOL?
Just wondering, my husband actually asked me these questions last night and my response was “I don’t know” after the third I don’t know, he said “Then why are you doing it?”
To which I again replied “I don’t know” but then I ammended it with because Spiraljetty invited me to, and Cheryl Richardson’s book suggested reading Julia Cameron’s book…
