After taking a break from this (life got in the way) I am back and now on lesson 5. I’m learning ear, leg, rub and take, along with who and what. Exciting, exciting.

I have a Thai friend and I am teaching her some Spanish in return for learning some Thai. So far we have covered numbers—though I still need to connect them to their Thai writings. I find it interesting that Thai’s do maths in the numerals that we do (1,2,3,etc.) and then write their answers in Thai. It is handy to have her because I can hear the tones better. My writing is pretty good too, I guess. For some reason I don’t have the same problems that some people have at it.
I am also using “Manee and Friends” from http://www.learn-thai.com It is an old textbook that was used to teach Thai people Thai so it is helpful. You know, like the old Dick, Jane and Sally readers. Manee has eyes. Uncle has eyes. Crow has eyes. Manee sees crow. It is very basic but I am picking up the letters and sounds from it.
