27. http://covers.fwis.com/
This site has a lot of well-designed covers, and comments from people who sound like they know what they’re talking about. A good way to pump yourself up for the bookstore, perhaps ;)

28. http://www.v1gallery.com/artist/show/3
I don’t know if I can fairly call this one of my favourite websites since I just clicked on it now, but it’s pretty cool. Photographer Peter Funch took a bunch of photos in NY and then stuck them together.

29. http://kottke.org/
This would have been more obvious than the above site, since it’s where I got the above link from. Jason Kottke writes some crap about some cool crap. I’ve never thought to post this link before because I just read it from its RSS feed via google reader, but now that gives me a great idea about where to find more of my favourite websites (why go to them when they can come to you?)

30. http://www.marcandangel.com/
This is my favourite life-hacking blog. Actually, it’s the only life-hacking blog I read since I’d like to spend more time life hacking than reading about it.

19. http://www.theslot.com/

I enjoy reading about language and decisions regarding how to spell and use words, and thoroughly enjoy Bill Walsh!

20. http://www.torontopubliclibrary.ca/

Your guide to knowledge.

21. http://main.library.utoronto.ca/index.shtml

This list is probably getting lame if you don’t live in Toronto!

22. http://books.google.ca/

Very cool. Can search for books that are fully or partly available online. For Torontonian and non-Torontonian nerds ;) This might be cheating since I already used google.ca, but 43 is a big number!

23. http://www.chapters.indigo.ca/
24. http://www.amazon.ca/

Sometimes these sites have good reviews, but it doesn’t really beat being in the store :)

17. http://www.mindtools.com/
a great self-help site, including good tips to improve your memory

18. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/
my favourite canadian news source

Horrible Goal 16 months ago

Now this goal seems daunting and stupid for some reason. But… it seems like to easy of goal to give up on so I’m going to think of a few more ;)

11. http://www.world-map.nl/maps/wallpaper-world-map-2006-large.gif (A nice map of the world)

12. http://dictionary.reference.com/ (Yup, I’m a nerd. Always debating a membership)

13. www.urbandictionary.com (Sometimes the site above just can’t cut it)

14. www.flickr.com (Search for photos by theme, very cool)

15. www.friendsgreen.com (Save the environment by searching on the internet)

16. en.wikipedia.org

Well... I guess I should start! 16 months ago

In the order that they come to mind…

1. www.allmusic.com (can get lost for hours)

2. www.google.ca (if you don’t have igoogle, you NEED to get one! you can make your homepage whatever you want. weather, email, news stories)

3. www.freerice.com (improve your vocabulary and have fun! have played with my friends before, a good time for all :) )

4. www.sparknotes.com (just good for finding stuff out, researching a book before you read it or finding out a larger context for a book you are reading/want to read/are going to read.

5. www.spiralnature.com (concise information about different religious/spiritual practices)

6. www.43things.com (you’ve probably figured this one out ;) )

7. www.youtube.com (music videos, people hurting themselves, the latest race – it has it all!)

8. www.thehungersite.com (click click click – look at me saving the world!)

9. toronto.en.craigslist.ca (you can find this for your city, find an apartment, a couch to put in the apartment, and a job – what more do you need?

10. www.facebook.com (stalk your friends. you don’t even need to talk to them anymore because you can just read their status update)

well, that’s good for now :)
