1. I prefer to be a little strange. I truly wish to be known as an eccentric. The people I remember..the people who’ve inspired me and whom I admire are all just a bit different. They live how it pleases them and do it with such style and grace and fun that being with them is an amazing delight. There’s no reason I can’t merge the things I love with the things that fascinate me and create a space in which I can live set apart from the mundane world, to a certain extent.
2. Not to be all neo-con, but really, would it kill people to be a little more mannerly and well-bred in public? I’m making a concious effort to be polite and gracous when I’m out and about. It’s so easy to get caught up in a whirlwind of awfulness; deciding to be above the fray is hard work! But I think we’d all be a little happier if we weren’t constantly dodging cretins.
