So today I cleaned my half of the house in anticipation of Ji. The thing is, my half of the house is not the important parts I should be cleaning(I’m in charge of the kitchen, master bed and bath). I told my boyfriend to clean his half of the house tonight(guest room and bath and living room). Aiiiiyaaaah. The key to domestic goddess bliss is to divide the chores. I can’t rule the world by spending all my time mopping the floor, right? Haha.

I’ve been neglecting my domestic duties ever since work started. Gaaah. There’s just no time. It’s a hectic June ahead with guests almost every week. Need to find balance.
Menu for tonight includes broccoli and corn salad and chicken wings. Not much but it’s a start! :) I hope the salmon sashimi thaws just in time.
This evening, my boyfriend and I decided to do the groceries for the week and I ended up buying all sorts of stuff I plan to cook this week. Now, our refridgerator looks like a proper one with all the meat, vegetables and food that’s in it. Compare that to two weeks ago when all we had in it were a pitcher of water and 3 bottles of vodka! Hahaha. I also got a simple cookbook called “Everyday Dinners” and I can’t wait to try out the recipes in them! Yayayaya. I’m so excited!
So. The pasta and chicken I made this evening was a little bit of a disaster. The sauce got burnt, but the chicken was good. Aiieee. I really need to practice practice practice til I perfect this.
Yesterday, I made another Turkish dish with tomatoes, beef and potatoes. I don’t even know what it was called but my boyfriend loved it. The Turkish dish was followed by ice cream cake for dessert! I’m really beginning to enjoy experimenting in the kitchen these days. Plans for tonight’s dinner are pasta and chicken. Haha.
This evening, I made a Turkish dish called Karnabahar. It’s basically cauliflower in tomato sauce. Surprised my boyfriend with it. Haha. There are no words to describe how happy his face was when he tasted it. He told me the apartment finally feels like a home! Hahahaha. I also made Italian herb risotto to go with the Karnabahar(cheated on this one by buying a box with all the ingredients in it..haha). Anyway, this whole cooking thing actually seems fun. It’s a wonderful feeling watching someone’s face light up as they taste your labor of ehem love.
French cooking lessons on Thursday via webcam with the funny little frog in my throat. :)
Oh yes. The time has finally come. Now that I live on my own, I realized that I cannot subsist on fast food every single day for every single meal nor can I survive on my boyfriend’s very simple cooking. I need to have proper meals! I need to learn how to cook and how to manage the house while managing my career! I want to be one of those women who has it all—-super successful career, super happy home life, and can whip up a great meal any time. :) Haha. First experiment in the kitchen will be tomorrow. Wish me luck kiddos.
