become fluent in Italian

I’m so proud of myself for having the discipline to do the chapters everyday. I would want to take a formal course someday but I just don’t have the time right now.

Today, I had a breakfast session with one of the bank’s senior leaders. She mentioned something about kaizen, a japanese technique about continuous improvement and this was something that really resonated with me—-as this is what I’ve been trying to do with learning Italian. I do a part of a chapter a day, and try to finish a whole chapter each week. Hopefully, by the end of the book, I can really understand, read and write in Italian and I get the opportunity to either work or study in Italy.

And so far so good. I’m in Chapter 3 of my book already. Hoping to finish chapter 5 by the end of May and then the rest of the book by September. I really want to and speak Italian fluently…something tells me that I’ll be living in Milan and Florence in the near future. :-)

It’s going to happen, I know it…

...I can listen to my italian lessons while I sleep! :)

I’m currently reading the book Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gisbert and I’m completely inspired to learn Italian again. The book is her memoir about her soul-searching in Italy, India and Indonesia for a year. I’m still in the Italy part and I have to say, she has convinced me to live there just to learn Italian and the very fine art of pleasure.

i just started listening to the CD again. i plan to devote at last two hours listening to the CD at work, and then once i finish reading the SQR manual, i’m going to get back on working on the italian book. i really really want to go and see milan and capri soon. =)

i’ve been devoting at least an hour to learning this language everyday. so far, so good. i just finished capitolo 3 of il mio libro. haha. i’ll cross out this goal once i finish the book.

Have to get back to listening to the CD and then doing the exercises! I want to live in Milan eventually.
