I can see from my Christian goals that the Lord shows me something by listening to his word I get excited about it but it doesn’t take root. Even though I have passion at the time I don’t follow it up by finding out more about it. Looking up the scriptures in the sermon, memorizing etc. Some of the things I have written I know are truth but I’ve forgotten why they are important.
This part of the Parable of the Sower seems to apply to me:
Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
I’m going to take notes when I listen to sermons and note the scriptures, look them up and write them down.
