become fluent in french

but it isn’t because I haven’t been working on it! I’ve been taking a beginner conversation class at CCSF. It’s pretty low-level, since I’ve had a lot of French before, but it is good for what I need, i.e. accent reduction and pronunciation. It’s also cheap. I don’t put enough time into it, because I am so swamped all the time, but it is more time than I was putting into it before. Also, I plan on continuing this in the spring and summer and in fact all the way through the fifth semester (conversation about culture and literature) which, unfortunately, is the end of the road at City College. I’ll have to do something else after that, but will worry about that later. I’ve been trying to supplement using podcasts, but I’ve only just started with that.

I seem to have missed the placement test (today). Not a whole lot I could have done about it, really. There are already far too many things to do before I take off for Michigan.

I’ll just have to revisit this in January.

So . . . membership up at the Alliance francaise is 50.00, which is fine. And there are placement tests running next week, which is good timing. I don’t think I’ll study any, because I’d rather back up a bit. But the money thing. Each course is 365.00 and if I had my druthers I’d take three of them in the spring, because they each last about 5 weeks. But I don’t think I can afford it. Maybe just a conversaton class? I’ll see how I do on the placement test.
