definite progress

I think I could be justified in marking this done, but I’m still going to wait. The other day K. asked me if I’d lost weight. I’m not sure—I might have, but I think the real difference is in my posture. I still haven’t worn a bikini to the pool, but that is because I haven’t gone in a while. If I manage to take water aerobics again in the fall, or go deep water running over the summer, I might.

How to count this as done?

Sometimes we have goals on here that are hard to quantify, and thus hard to mark “done.” So this is my measure of what determines this “done”: if I go to water aerobics or water running in a two piece swimsuit, I’ll mark this as done.

This is coming along

mainly due to Pilates. I think I put it up as more of a vanity goal, but really, it’s about my back, which won’t ever really get better unless the front muscles on the right learn to kick in, especially when I inhale. Other things are really a side benefit.

must do something besides

go to a pilates session once a week.

But it’s a start.

could go either here or under the ever-popular “physical therapy” class of goals.

I’ve been going to a Pilates studio that specializes in rehabilitation and doing one-on-one sessions with someone there. It feels very promising, although not miraculous (which is fine by me). The only problem is it of course represents a chunk of change that is not covered by insurance. That’s the way it goes, though. I’m investing in my physical future.

Tonight

I skipped belly dance class to watch the convention.

Oh well, it will be there next week.
