I went to Worldfest this weekend, a music festival in Grass Valley, California. I did an Afro-Brazilian dance workshop on Saturday. I did a bit of Salsa with a great Argentine band called Los Pinguos. I pretended I knew how to “Riverdance” when Eileen Ivers took the stage. And joined a drum circle today where I danced with a beautiful African woman who taught me the ways of the African dancing. It was a dance-filled weekend! By the way, for others who want to dance, this festival is all about feeling the music and moving when and how you feel inspired to move. Everyone and everything is acceptable. No judgment. If your inner-hippie is calling, you may want to check it out next year. I’ll be there for sure!

I went to a salsa lesson that was more than just the basics. I definitely learned some new moves and I had such a great time. It was a very fun thing to do with the teens that were on the trip.

We did the tango and it was great! We had a beginners’ lesson then we danced for a couple of hours after that. I have done a lot of dancing, but this is really a hard one. My back was sore after 3 hours of tango, but it was definitely worth it! What fun! I’ll be gone for several weekends in a row, but we will definitely go back in late July! What a fun date with my boyfriend too!

We skipped Tango on Friday because the parents were in town, but we went salsa dancing at Roccapulco on Saturday night and we had a blast dancing for hours!

I just got my boyfriend to agree to do Friday night tango lessons. We’re pretty busy right now so we’ll start June 1st. Yippee!

I told myself I was only going to put goals that I am actively working on on here, but I have enough on my plate. I skipped lindy in the park today…maybe next Sunday. That will have to do for now.
