build an earthship

in a week we will be on the road heading to the Pagan Spirit Gathering, and have a workshop planned to share all that we have learned about Earthships. We are going to invite anyone interested to help us make it happen. We hope to start actually building it by next summer, and it will be good to have already drummed up some support, especially in the form of willing hands.

so we just won the auction and bought land 30 miles from Taos, NM. that makes the dream of building our earthship and living in it just that much closer to real.

since there are already so many earthships in taos, and since new mexico has statewide building code, we are hoping to acquire land near taos. we’ve put a bid in and should find out in a few days whether the land is ours.

called the code enforcement guy in costilla county, and they are not wholly unfamiliar with the concept, open to it, but we’d have a fair bit of red tape to wade through to get approvals. somewhat hopeful.
