I love movies so hopefully this one will be fun!

83rd Annual Academy Awards – The King’s Speech (I was so glad that this won as I thought it was a brilliant film, one of the best I’ve seen in a long time)
82nd Annual Academy Awards – The Hurt Locker (a good film but I was expecting it to be amazing so felt a little let down)
81st Annual Academy Awards – Slumdog Millionaire (LOVE this! The way it’s shot is so amazing – the colours, camera angles etc. I have it on DVD and should watch it more often!)
80th Annual Academy Awards – No Country for Old Men (Quite liked this)
79th Annual Academy Awards – The Departed (Great film, I have it on DVD)
78th Annual Academy Awards – Crash (Excellent, I really like these films that have lots of individual stories that all join up)
77th Annual Academy Awards – Million Dollar Baby (Didn’t think I’d like this but I really did!)
76th Annual Academy Awards – The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (Fantasy isn’t really my thing but I enjoyed this – the effects are undeniably incredible)
75th Annual Academy Awards – Chicago (One of my fave films – I have it on DVD and watch it all the time!)
74th Annual Academy Awards – A Beautiful Mind (Very poignant and moving)
73rd Annual Academy Awards – Gladiator (So powerful, I have this on DVD also)
72nd Annual Academy Awards – American Beauty (Very interesting film)
71st Annual Academy Awards – Shakespeare in Love (So-so, think I would prefer it more without Gwyneth!)
70th Annual Academy Awards – Titanic (I actually really like this, the big budget obviously paid off as it’s so impressive)
69th Annual Academy Awards – The English Patient (A very moving film)
68th Annual Academy Awards – Braveheart (Really liked this, particularly all the battle scenes)
67th Annual Academy Awards – Forrest Gump (Another one of my faves, I could watch this again and again!)
66th Annual Academy Awards – Schindler’s List (Only got around to watching this a few years ago, but it was just as powerful and moving as I knew it would be)
65th Annual Academy Awards – Unforgiven
64th Annual Academy Awards – The Silence of the Lambs (I do like a good thriller and this scared me so much when I first saw it as a teenager! Great film)
63rd Annual Academy Awards – Dances With Wolves (I wasn’t sure about this at first but by the end I thought I was a really good film)
62nd Annual Academy Awards – Driving Miss Daisy (Lovely film)
61st Annual Academy Awards – Rain Man (Not really a Tom Cruise fan, but a good film nonetheless)
60th Annual Academy Awards – The Last Emperor (stunning film. We spent our honeymoon in China so I was really looking forward to seeing the different locations and they didn’t disappoint. The plot and acting were great too)
59th Annual Academy Awards – Platoon (This definitely brings home the horrors of war and what it does to human nature)
58th Annual Academy Awards – Out of Africa (Found this a bit dull to be honest)
57th Annual Academy Awards – Amadeus
56th Annual Academy Awards – Terms of Endearment (I laughed, I cried, I really enjoyed it!)
55th Annual Academy Awards – Gandhi (A very interesting and important film. What a great man)
54th Annual Academy Awards – Chariots of Fire
53rd Annual Academy Awards – Ordinary People
52nd Annual Academy Awards – Kramer vs. Kramer
51st Annual Academy Awards – The Deer Hunter (Wow! One of the best films I’ve seen in a LONG LONG time! So disturbingly powerful)
50th Annual Academy Awards – Annie Hall (So funny! A real laugh out loud film)
49th Annual Academy Awards – Rocky (I’d always put off watching this as I don’t like Stallone. I tried to put that aside when watching the film, but found it really hard. I just couldn’t understand anything he said! Not my cup of tea)
48th Annual Academy Awards – One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (Read the book before I saw the film. Not always a Jack Nicholson fan, but he was just perfect as McMurphy)
47th Annual Academy Awards – The Godfather, Part II (Good, but I much preferred the first one)
46th Annual Academy Awards – The Sting (Only saw this very recently, but I thought it was really good!)
45th Annual Academy Awards – The Godfather (Love this! Such a great film)
44th Annual Academy Awards – The French Connection (Great film, full of tension and an amazing car chase scene!)
43rd Annual Academy Awards – Patton
42nd Annual Academy Awards – Midnight Cowboy
41st Annual Academy Awards – Oliver! (Another one of my all-time faves, I do love a good musical! Ron Moody is fantastic as Fagin!)
40th Annual Academy Awards – In the Heat of the Night (Really enjoyed this, the racism element made it much more interesting than all the other run-of-the-mill detective films)
39th Annual Academy Awards – A Man for All Seasons (A superb film. I’m really interested in the Tudors so found all the historical details fascinating)
38th Annual Academy Awards – The Sound of Music (I like most musicals but have never cared much for this one, not really sure why but it just doesn’t do it for me)
37th Annual Academy Awards – My Fair Lady (I love musicals but hated this. I thought I would which was why I’d avoided watching it until now. I studied ‘Pygmalion’ at school and hated it, so this was never going to float my boat)
36th Annual Academy Awards – Tom Jones
35th Annual Academy Awards – Lawrence of Arabia (Visually stunning and very powerful)
34th Annual Academy Awards – West Side Story (I do love a good musical and this is a very good one!)
33rd Annual Academy Awards – The Apartment (Really enjoyable and I was surprised by how much I found myself rooting for the two main characters!)
32nd Annual Academy Awards – Ben-Hur
31st Annual Academy Awards – Gigi (Very predictable but not a bad musical, can’t quite see why it was so unbelievably successful though)
30th Annual Academy Awards – The Bridge on the River Kwai
29th Annual Academy Awards – Around the World in 80 Days (Wow, what a spectacle! This must have been seriously big-budget at the time. I love travel so found it really interesting to see all the different locations)
28th Annual Academy Awards – Marty
27th Annual Academy Awards – On the Waterfront (A great film with superb acting performances, especially Marlon Brando – talk about determined!)
26th Annual Academy Awards – From Here to Eternity (An enjoyable film)
25th Annual Academy Awards – The Greatest Show on Earth
24th Annual Academy Awards – An American in Paris
23rd Annual Academy Awards – All About Eve (The acting in this film was top notch. Eve was so calculating and I actually ended up feeling sorry for Margo, even though she wasn’t a likeable character. I thought the ending was great – very disturbing!)
22nd Annual Academy Awards – All the King’s Men
21st Annual Academy Awards – Hamlet
20th Annual Academy Awards – Gentleman’s Agreement (very interesting and thought-provoking, I expect it was quite controversial at the time)
19th Annual Academy Awards – The Best Years of Our Lives (A brilliant film with fantastic acting performances. I resally enjoyed it)
18th Annual Academy Awards – The Lost Weekend
17th Annual Academy Awards – Going My Way
16th Annual Academy Awards – Casablanca
15th Annual Academy Awards – Mrs. Miniver
14th Annual Academy Awards – How Green Was My Valley
13th Annual Academy Awards – Rebecca (A good enough film but I didn’t really find it chilling/scary, which I think it was supposed to be!)
12th Annual Academy Awards – Gone with the Wind (VERY long but I actually really really enjoyed it! Scarlett O’Hara is such a character!)
11th Annual Academy Awards – You Can’t Take It With You
10th Annual Academy Awards – The Life of Emile Zola
9th Annual Academy Awards – The Great Ziegfeld
8th Annual Academy Awards – Mutiny on the Bounty
7th Annual Academy Awards – It Happened One Night (The two leading actors were very good in their roles but overall I didn’t think the film was impressive enough to win five Oscars)
6th Annual Academy Awards – Cavalcade
5th Annual Academy Awards – Grand Hotel
4th Annual Academy Awards – Cimarron
3rd Annual Academy Awards – All Quiet on the Western Front (A tremendous film. I couldn’t believe I was watching something that was filmed 80 years ago. It was still incredibly powerful and really showed the horrors of war)
2nd Annual Academy Awards – The Broadway Melody
1st Annual Academy Awards – Wings
