I made progress on this goal today by going to the post office and buying 2 cent stamps. I had bought a roll of 100 stamps just before postage changed from 39 to 41 cent. Thus, I have 90+ 39-cent stamps and now I have the two cents to go with them all to help send out Thanksgiving day cards to the family. All Thanksgiving day cards have been selected, signed and addressed. I will let the kids put the stamps on them this afternoon. Can I put that as an entry in my “spend quality time with the kids” goal?

I have completed the list of my immediate family and closest friends birthdays and anniversary dates with only a few missing. I have purchased birthday cards in bulk and have just ordered Christmas cards and anniversary cards and are waiting for them to arrive. I ordered them from Currents. I received the cards promptly and they are really nice for the price.

I have never been very good at remembering dates and names. The last straw was a few weeks ago when I forgot my mother-in-law’s birthday…. again. I have always thought it was my husband’s job to remember it. However, since we have been married 11 years now, I should probably include my mother-in-law’s birthday to memory. My plan is to complete a list of all of my close friends and immediate family. The list will include birthdays, anniversaries, email and mailing addresses and phone numbers. It might expand later to include more information, but for now, the list is my mini goal. I don’t plan to recognize each day with a big party or anything. Probably just a phone call/ card etc. It is the thought that counts in these situations….. at least to me it is the thought that counts.
