In the absence of a local class, I’m dedicating Sunday mornings to Tai Chi, as well as any day on which I should be running but the weather is too poor (Scotland in winter: what are the chances?!)

When learning coordinated motor sequences (dance moves, exercise routines), I have a tendency to hold my breath: I nearly asphyxiated learning to drive!
I don’t seem to have this problem with Tai Chi, at least not yet (three days in, I’m not exactly in the advanced class). Maybe I can generalise this to other activities? Regardless, for now it’s cool to be breathing!
In the absence of local classes, like madpengu I bought a DVD. The Amazon reviews range from 1 to 5 stars but it’s a starting point. The DVD begins with a Chinese creation myth that made me wonder when Monkey would appear!
(Fortunately, the actual instruction is less gigglesome: no match for an actual teacher, as eoalvarez says. I may follow his advice to madpengu and buy a book showing the stances.)
