Last time I only got as far as week two before I allowed myself to be sidetracked, but now I’m determined to stay the course.
Reading the entries from five months ago is encouraging: hope I achieve the same enthusiasm this time around.

I pretty much lost my way last week, so have decided to repeat week two. Interesting to see the increase in the number of pushups in the final round: progress!
Week two, day three: another week down, but now the test! I’ve got a weird week coming up, so I think I’ll mark time for now and defer the test to the weekend (if only to bump up my score!).
Week two, day two: suddenly, it all came together; head up, body straight, breathing even…and then I collapsed! Still, I’m keeping to the programme, and to be able to crank out pushup after pushup in the final interval felt amazing.
I’m getting to the point where I feel a little twitchy on the rest days: I hope this is confidence, not over-confidence!
Again with the breath holding! I think I’m too impatient, just want to get on to the next set, when I should be paying more attention to good form. Funny to think how reluctant I was to start the programme.
Still, I’ve just completed twice as many pushups as I was able to do last week. Progress!
Yay!
Halfway through I caught myself holding my breath again, but no other problems. Week two looked like a steep increase when I started, but I feel equal to it now. Let’s see if my confidence lasts!
I woke looking forward to today’s set of pushups and enjoyed the programme (week one, day two).
Half way in I noticed I was holding my breath again: by focussing on my breathing, I was able to double the number of pushups I managed in the final section!
Who’d have thought this oxygen thing was so important?
Week one, day one of the 100 pushups programme and I procrastinated for a full hour before doing the sets: you have no idea how important it was to alphabetise my DVDs!
I collapsed in a sweaty heap halfway through my last pushup but I now feel really good. Hopefully I won’t feel so reluctant on day two (sadly, the “yay, I can do anything” feeling of this moment will probably have dissipated by Saturday!).
I too am intending to follow the programme on 100pushups.com. I’ve never focussed on building strength (any increase has usually been a side effect of my other activities) but this seems a fun way to improve my upper body strength.
Or it did until I took the initial test: “good form” pushups are hard! 100 seems a long way off right now.
