I’ve always been able to make marks on paper resemble something or other (when I was 12: usually Iron Man!), but I’ve never had any formal tuition.
One page into Barrington Barber’s “The Fundamentals of Drawing” and I’ve already learned something: concentrate on the tip of the pencil. My freehand lines are straighter already.
208 pages in all: if I learn something as useful on every page, I may yet have to change my name to Leonardo!
