I always decide to learn touchtyping as I’m about to start a project which requires fast typing & leaves me no time to acquire the skill. Once the project is complete, I can always find more exciting things to do than slog through typing drills…until the next project!
typeonline.co.uk says my typing speed is 29wpm with 7 mistakes. I’m probably a little faster writing my own material than I am copying existing text, but I use only my middle fingers and bend over the keyboard: not exactly ergonomic.
Once again, I’ll be typing too much over the next two months to risk slowing myself down. Come the end of August, though, I have a date with MasterKey (http://macinmind.com).
