2010: Found a very small piece of a junonia shell on the beach. This, in itself, is pretty amazing because these shells just don’t appear on the beach very often! So, I was happy with that. Shelling was wonderful this year. Here is a photo of some of the best of what I did pick up on the beach. Beautiful!!
Over the last twenty-five years of serious beachcombing in Florida, I have found pieces of junonia shells on the beach in Boca Grande. Once several years ago I found a pretty good size fragment. But, it doesn’t quite count. They are so rarely found on the beach! But, I am going to be on the lookout again soon…
