learn to tap dance

There has been this move that has been irritating me for weeks. My teacher has been trying to help me with it to no avail but last night I just did it. It was so funny because I was worried that I was hallucinating I just couldn’t believe it. It felt so great. I can’t wait to show it to him. I just hope that I did it correctly. I guess we’ll see on Thursday.

I’m getting so frustrated. I just can’t get the moves and I feel like such a tool in class. I wasn’t bad when I did it before but I guess that that was ages ago. I feel like a kid relearning to ride a bike in all the dance classes I’m taking. Sometimes I just wanna slap somebody but I reckon it’ll be fine. Maybe I’ll just throw out what I learnt and start afresh but I guess you can’t put your back to the past. I think I’ll improve on it and practice which means that I can’t care what others think about me. Everyones great though.

Ok first class last night was funny but fun! I totally realised how long ago it was since my last tap lesson. They said I wasn’t too bad but I’m going to try harder. Had a great time. The have show tap on Thursday! Cant wait!

Ok the weirdest thing. Today during lunch (South African time) I went to fetch my tap shoes also decided to buy clothes to wear for the classes(Ugg I look terrible but whatever)I was worried about my taps on my shoes being too tight so I googled it..seems fine then I’m like ‘hey let me Wiki tapdance’ I do and then Whoa! It turns out that the 25th of May (today) is national tap dancing day and I have my first lesson today…maybe it’s a sign that everything will be ok. Maybe it’s a coincidence I mean I’m not American so technically it isn’t national tap dancing day…but still freaky.

I got them! Yay I have shoes. I gave them to a shoe store to put in the actual tappy thingies and I’m getting them on Monday. I have shoes!

I don’t have time to buy them. It’s pathetic I know but seriously that’s what keeping me from starting classes. Bloody hell…shoes. Great excuse. Maybe I’m too scared to be do something that will make me happy. I have a destructive personality.

So I went to the dance studio and put my name down. Yay… today I’m giving them my banking details meaning that I have to commit for one year cos the ‘contract’ is an annual thing. So it’s not going to be just tap but still. I’m gonna buy shoes some time this week…YAY FOR ME! prat0318- keep the faith…

I can hear the sounds of tap shoes. Ok well today I go to speak about joining classes and I’m going to pay. I’m going to try not to be embarrased by the the fact that these women are probably thin and I’m overweight. I’ there to enjoy myself.
