My computer was purchased shortly after high school graduation. I finished graduate school 2.5 years ago. I need a new computer!
This is low-priority for me right now, as my current computer still “works” (albeit really really slowly) and I have a company-provided laptop to use to work at home and for some personal stuff, too. I have other things to save up for (see Emergency Fund and Moving Fund goals), but after those are done, this is my next goal.
I’m thinking I need $700-800 for a decent computer – I also want a new monitor and printer because my current ones are in rough shape, although they still work too. I haven’t decided between desktop and laptop yet. I want something that will last me a while, maybe 5 years. I would pretty much just use it for Internet, music and some word processing – not really into video games. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?
