open pathway homeward

asymmetrical rose
dancing lightly in the wind
etre insouciante

four rhythms carry
dark under-surface secrets
agony washed clean

tears at the surface
no space for them to emerge
loneliness erupts

did not ask for this
a leader for my people
reluctant spokesman

heart sinking toward tears
commitment to another
friendship changes hands

exquisite flower
unexpected yellow shock
sidewalk offering

bend backwards
small adrenal glands charged up
