had to drop Japanese II. Really it was more a scheduling issue, but I can’t deny the fact that english, spanish, korean and japanese are making a muddy sludge of my thoughts. If I could find a way to compartmentalize the languages I think I could probably do this one much better. I haven’t given up, but I’ll have to try again later.

Well I took my Japanese I Final yesterday….hmm….seems I may be taking this class again. :(
FWIW, this is my first time learning a language I don’t use. My mother’s family all speaks spanish, I lived in Korea….these all helped me-over time-to make these languages relevant. Outside of my assignments, which are online, I don’t use Japanese at all.
Japanese is not so far from Korean in grammar or pronunciation, so I understand the concepts….I just need a stronger hold on vocabulary and better recognision of hirugana/katakana.
I guess I could argue that I knew nothing of Japanese and this class was a 10-week summer course. But no excuses! I’ll have this language under control by the end of the year….mark my words! :P
