ugh I went so low today and I don’t understand it either, it just hits me. I was napping on the couch, and woke up sooo sweaty. I knew something was up and I checked my blood sugar – 2.2. That’s the lowest I’ve ever been.
I think I took 6 sugar tablets and then I stuffed down half a box of crackers. Probably a little too much, but honestly at that point all I could think about was getting my blood sugar way way back up. It’s the worst feeling in the world.
I tried to explain it to a friend of mine – like not eating for awhile, and getting that dizzy feeling, but like tenfold of that.
other then that, I’ve been doing really good lately. I know it’s going to get A LOT harder, as of right now I’m still making insulin, but I’m trying to look on the bright side.
This disease will only make me work harder to stay in shape, eat healthier and respect my body!
I’m going for blood work next week
Hopefully my A1C will be less then 7. When I was first diagnosed it was at 14!
Carbs only at breakfast.. I’m doing pretty good!
Lots of protein! Some fatty food, minimum carbs
It’s hard, but fun. I found a new love for hard boiled eggs!
I’m sugars been high lately though, I’m not enitrely sure why.
I’m experimenting with lowering my carb intake, it’s interesting.. my doc gave me the ok too just in case you were going to jump down my throat about that :)
I can’t give blood anymore, Canadian Blood actually “terminated” my account as the lady on the phone said.
That’s something I cried over. I can’t save lives anymore, but I’m making my friends do it for me now and I encourage you guys to donate for your type 1 friends/brothers/sisters/mothers/fathers
Thought I’d add that!
I’ve been type 1 for officially 1 month and 2 days and I’m already sick of the finger pokes.
I’m going to be an engineer and I’m going to come up with an invasive to take blood glucose readings! chya!
Diabetes is hard, I’m not going to lie, and I’m still in honeymoon stage! But got to stay positive!!
Probably a favorite picture of mine as of right now is of a friend and myself posing at a party, both of us completely smashed out of our minds, with needles sticking out of our arms. Yeah we’re awesome, she’s been type 1 since she was six.
haha always a good laugh!!
