This is proving to be more difficult than I’d imagined. My significant other doesn’t even own a television, and it seems perfectly normal when I’m at his apartment, listening to music instead of having the TV on in the background. It’s a different story at my place, though… I like having the cadence of voices talking in the background when I’m doing housework or whatever, and I’m a sucker for those damn VH1 pop-culture shows. (My unemployed, MTV-loving roommate doesn’t help matters any, either.) I’ve been working on filling up my iPod so that I have a more interesting and eclectic music selection, so hopefully I’ll be able to find a healthier balance between TV and music.
