On top of everything else associated with sorrying for everything, it’s bloody easy to slide into the role of Outrageous Apologist. If I experienced or witnessed what I now accept to be appalling indifference, mixed messages, unkindness and downright cruelty, I could shrug it off, make excuses, be sent away like a puppy that’s made a mess.
They are under stress. There’s a good heart behind that. That’s fear driving them. We have a tacit understanding. They’ll come around. I can endure plenty.
It’s not right. The deal with Outrageous Apologists is that quite often it’s easier for them to apologize when they know they should be on the receiving end of the apology. Misplaced nobility, Leptis?
