I have learnt some basic concepts about NLP, and I am in the process of reading a few more books on the subject. And in July, I will attend a second short course before deciding if I want to continue on to do a Practitioner course. :)
Good start and it is well worth it. :)

I used the anchors (For being alert and energetic) a few times during the week following the second session and found that I was able to actually stay “awake” during some rather horrid work meetings.
The third session was about modelling and timeline representation modifications. We went through a few exercies on using some premade models, one of creativity, one of healthy eating and one for handling critisism. They were quite fun to do.
The timeline representation exercise was fascinating. I thought I thought of time as linear, but as it turned out, I am more the “live for the moment” type of girl. I actually tried to “rig” my results to be more linear, then I realise how difficult it actually is.
Anyways, Hence end my learning of NLP for the moment. :) I will enrol in a second NLP short course in July, that one will be about using NLP for communication. I am looking forward to that too. :)
NLP is an interesting study into the human mind, language and behaviours. I would recommend it to my friends.

I used the visualisation of goals and desired outcomes techniques for my gym routines, and I actually did go pick up my gym card (after 2 months of procrastination) and went to the gym for the last 2 weeks, 3 times a week. :)
The second session was about resourceful and unresourceful states, applying anchors for resourceful states and modifying submodalities to get out of unresourceful states.
According to the belief that “there is no unresourceful people, only unresourceful states”, we can all get from unresourceful to resourceful by modifying our Visual, Audio and Kinesthetic (VAK).
One exercise that was quite fasinating to me was that we had been visualising a resourceful state (i chose social), then we were to visualise an unresourceful state (I chose bored). It was interesting to see that even when only visualising the state, my body/physiology was changing from being alert, and sitting upright, to slummed and my hands were cupping my face and facial expressions were totally different.
We then learned how to create anchors (shortcuts) to a couple of resourceful state. Our trainer has a very relaxing voice, which makes all the visualiation/meditation exercises very easy to get into.

Attended the first “Creating Success with NLP” course on Saturday. It was… mm… interesting. I didn’t know much about NLP at all, so I didn’t actually know what to expect from the course. But I am glad I did it.
The instructor was very witty and knowledgeable. The session moved along in a quick pace, mixed with theory, discussions, practical exercises and a couple of relaxation/future pacing sessions. It’s interesting to know that by thinking about the desired outcome in a way that includes all senses to create a very detailed picture, it appears a lot clearer and present. It was quite an experience.
It was an intro session, and I am looking forward to the next session and learn more about NLP.
