I'm keeping track 2 years ago

without writing a list of everything.

I need to re-think health and fitness in a big way and make a new start. So I’ll be looking for ideas on this one.

Started eating in a bizarre way this last week 2 years ago

Not too bad but I did sneakily eat a choc bar yesterday. This this may be PMS.
Also ate a lot of pumpkin seeds. They are for snacking, not gorging! But I was very very tired yesterday.

I love healthy food 2 years ago

I’m not being funny. Ever since the Christmas and New Year Fat Festival, I have been really enjoying a more spartan lifestyle.

However, yesterday I allowed myself an end-of-the week Almond Croissant, and my goodness, it was nice, and all the nicer for being a rare treat. I can’t crack the water drinking though. I’m not that interested in drinking water.

This goal is coming back again 2 years ago

because I have so much to lose. I’d like to lose about 16 pounds. This is more than ever before.

I’ve got a little chart to fill in to encourage fruit and veg eating, drinking water and I’ve added an exercise column. There’s also a column to note any “unhealthy snacks”. This is very motivating. I’m going to make sure I have something to write in each column (except the “unhealthy snacks” column) every day.

Sunday 3 years ago

Cornflakes and milk, tea and coffee
Pasta carbonara with one horrible cheap sausage. (My husband went shopping)
A plum or two
cups of tea.
Three slices toast with butter and honey.

This is quite bad now I look at it. No veg, very little fruit.
I really need to go to the shops and get some more fruits and veg.
Husband would happily eat bread, sausages and eggs forever, alternating with toast and marmalade.

Saturday 3 years ago

Cornflakes and tea, coffee
White bread, delicious smoked ham from the deli, salad for lunch
Waited for the children to come back from Thorpe Park with our kind neighbour’s ex-husband.
I was so hungry by the time they returned! By that time I had consumed a couple of ginger biccies and a packet of crisps. (Cookies, chips, look how bilingual I am!!) But dinner was easy, pizza. Added tuna and mozarella and oregano to plain pizzas.
But in the night I was hungry again and had a glass of milk.

I'm very bad 3 years ago

As well as the usual things I ate a packet of chocolate covered dates yesterday. I was very tired and I needed something…

but choc covered dates are not good for you; they are very hard to digest. They need water. Also I connot hold back when I have them within my orbit. NO MORE of this!! It is ruining my good habits.

Apart from this, I had a normal eating day yesterday.

Went to see Mum yesterday 3 years ago

And I offered to take an apple pie so I had to get up fairly early and make an apple pie.

On the way: several squares chocoalate.
Lunch: chicken salad with baked potatoes and butter
Apple pie and instant custard (which is definitely not as good as the custard powder and milk combination).

After a short interval for a very slow walk around Bognor:

(Things to do in Bognor Regis: roller skate along the prom.
Spend one’s money in the amusement arcade on the pier: we spend tuppences
Stand on the pier and pretend you are on a ship.
Eat fish and chips.
Sit on the shingle and smell the sea.
Walk around the shops. Er, that’s it.
Once a year there’s a bird man competition (for longest unpowered flight) You can watch lots of crazy people dress up as aeroplanes and jump into the sea. Good fun for all.)

Tea with crumpets and butter.

Very full!!!!

Yesterday we had more friends to stay so I ate more again 3 years ago

Breakfast: Tea, coffee, cornflakes and a croissant!
Lunch: an egg and watercress on wholemeal bread sandwich in the Tate Modern cafe. Cup of tea
Dinner: Crisps for starter. Very interesting Meditteranean bread. Salad and a couple of spare ribs. Tarte au citron. T. bon.
Pimms and lemonade. Glass of wine.

Today: Tea, coffee, and Cornflakes. Slice toast and ginger marmalade: how delicious. Banana
Lunch: Granary roll with smoked mackerel pate and salad. Raw carrots. Peach
Dinner: Breaded fish, pasta, sauce, courgettes from garden
more Tarte au citron.

Yesterday I had bread and smoked mackerel 3 years ago

pate for lunch, with salad,
and then went off the wagon as we met some friends in London. We ate in a fish and chip shop near Waterloo, and I had fish cakes and salad, but unfortunately (!) my friend made me eat some of her chips! (fries if you’re American). Big fat chip shop chips…

Then after the show we had a big hot chocolate on the station and shared a chocolate florentine
