figure out where all the people like me are hiding

my OU friend and I have been joined on the message board by 3 others. I am glad about this. We have decided to meet – good – but they’ve chosen a date when I can’t be there, and they want to meet without me. Bad.

Never mind, perhaps I can get together with just Nicci another time, and I'm hopeless in groups anyway.

we are the only 2 people who chat on the message board, and we live not far away from each other. We are both teachers. We both try to encourage the others. We seem to get on very well on paper. So when she comes back from working away somewhere, we’re going to meet to discuss our writing projects!

And I really enjoyed it, but she seemed so stressed and hardly unwound at all, in spite of the fact that it is Friday and neither of us have to work this wekend. I wondered if I was just adding to her stresses. She did unwind a bit I think. Then I thought maybe, with all my talking, I was coming across as terribly needy. I just wanted us both to communicate properly.

Pat is definitely my cup of tea – always cheerful and fun, lovely smile.

Judith seems so humourless, in spite of her big smile. She is actually quite steely and very hard to be flippant with. I like to be flippant. I like to laugh.

when we went out for a drink and I found myself laughing along with Ros, and really enjoying myself, although I was not drunk at all – I thought – I like Ros, and I should ask her to come out with me sometimes. I asked her if she was interested to come to art exhibitions with me, but she said she nearly always goes with her teenage daughters; however, I may pursue this.

Pat and Judith and I are trying to fix a date to do something together.
