52 entries of playing with my kids. I’m a little afraid that if I take this off my list then I won’t play with them anymore…...I’m taking a leap and hope that that won’t be the case.

We played last night after all of our company was gone. Ordered pizza and played as a family in front of the fireplace. VERY fun.
...with my 6-year-old and two of his friends. I wasn’t ambitious enough to make frosted christmas cookies yet, so I started small. I think I’m going to add a teach my kids to cook goal to my list. Cooking involves planning, following directions, measuring….lots of good life skills. Plus the result is something we all can enjoy! Gotta love that!
Taught him how to play this summer. Today he wanted to “break in” his new deck of cards with a good game of war. Its a great early math game~he has learned to recognize what # is higher very quickly.
I scootered with my two little ones one day last week. We went out to the bus stop early and spent some goofy time scootering in the driveway. I was pretty bad at it, but I’m getting the hang of it. The kids really enjoyed teaching me how to scooter. Now its a new morning ritual. They scooter to the end of the driveway every day. My 5th grader gets on the bus and my little guy & I scooter (race) back to the house…..he wins every time, but I’m gaining on him ;)
.....I took my kids to the circus. I wish I hadn’t. I think the old fashioned circus needs to just stop. I felt badly for the animals. And mistreating Asian Elephants violates the Endangered SPecies act….not to mention the white tigers looking so angry and unhappy. I wish I’d given it more thought before we went.
.....each week she sends home a math game that the students have to play with a parent (or an older sibling) for homework. THen the parent has to sign a note recording how many times we played & the outcome…...so, I’ve played some fun math games with my daughter. Last week was a fraction game, this week a decimals game.
....it was a gorgeous day and the kids had it off from school due to Jewish holiday. We had to take advantage of the opportunity. We picked 60 pounds of apples!!! It was a comedy watching us carry them all to the car. We rewarded ourselves for a job well done with cookies homemade at the farm. Fabulous. Tonight?? Warm apple crisp with vanilla ice cream.
....to check out the frogs, fish & turtles. We stayed for a long time, until he was ready to leave (usually its me that’s ready first, so we stayed long enough for HIM to have seen enough!)
Barbie Uno with my little one, then we had a family scrabble game with the whole gang. Very fun :)
