So I’m back down to my starting weight, which is the weight I was at when I decided to recommit to this goal. Losing those 2 feels good and is the beginning of the momentum to turn the tide on my bad eating habits. Hopefully I can stick to it~especially while living in the house with skinny, ice-cream-eating beanpoles!!

I’ve added three other goals that each would lend themselves to weight loss:

drink more water
eat more fruits and vegetables
couch to 5k running plan

so one would think that I would start to lose weight. Nope. Opposite is true. Gained 2 more pounds. SO, I’m obviously doing something wrong and that something is SNACKING way too much on all the wrong things AND not controlling my portions. Time to get back on the careful eating bandwagon before NONE of my clothes fit comfortably…..

I haven’t gotten on the scale in ages, but when I did I realized that the few pounds that I knew I added over the holidays were more like 8! I tried on my old skinny jeans and boy were they uncomfortable. So I’m back to this goal to help me be disciplined about what I put into my body.

Hit my goal this morning! My scale is wrong, but I know I’m 10 pounds lighter than when I started! I’ve tried on my old jeans and while they aren’t quite as tight, they still aren’t really comfortable like I’d hoped. I’m wearing them today anyway to celebrate my victory!! So I still have maybe 5 more to go. But in the meantime, I’m so glad to have dropped the 10.

Down another pound! 2 years ago

I was so happy to get on the scale this morning and be down another pound! .5 away from the 10 pound goal!! I’m noticing my pants are fitting looser (a tiny bit) and that makes me very happy. And that my “love handles” are a little smaller. I haven’t tried on my old jeans yet. That will be the test to see if 10 pounds is enough. I may need to keep it up for another 5, but I’m still really happy with my progress.

Resisted all the temptations that were thrown my way today. Muchkins, girl scout cookies and lindt truffle balls! Had low fat granola & banana from breakfast and a sandwich with mostly lettuce & tomato (w/ a skim of chicken salad….way off my vegetarian ways of late) & a clementine. I had 5 tortilla chips with salsa, that was my big cheat of the day. And decaf with splenda. Tonight the plan is to have a baked potato with broccoli when the rest of my clan is having pizza!

.....1.5 to go. This is where I was the last time I had a setback. I need to stay disciplined!

I have to vent….Yesterday I had a decaf (w/ splenda) & a clementine as a snack in the afternoon and my hubby came in with his coffee and the whole box of Trader Joes ginger cat cookies!! He put them right on the table in front of me like he brought them in for both of us…..he thinks he’s being nice…..luckily I resisted. But it wasn’t easy….my husband, the man with the metabolism of a bird, just does NOT understand.

....haven’t lost anymore, but am holding steady. I’ve had some cheats over the last few days but overall not doing badly. But if I want to lose the last 2.5 I need to be more disciplined.

After my 2-day Valentines day spree I am back to the discipline. Got on the scale and I’m up 1 lb. So now I’m 2.5 away from my 10 pounds…..just got to fill up my water bottle and steer clear of those reese’s peanut butter chocolate hearts :)

Edited later: Didn’t eat at ALL healthy, but kept my portions down.

Breakfast: Hearty morning & a banana & skim milk
Lunch: Diet coke & a clementine (oh yeah, so healthy!)
Dinner: Small bowl of homemade clam chowder & slice of wheat bread with real butter….(not a leafy green to be found…..)
Little piece of Baklava

Had a diet coke today. Its been so long since I’ve had soda that I honestly couldn’t tell whether it was diet or regular. That was weird. Tonight I made homemade wheat bread to go with dinner. I could have eaten about 4 slices of bread, but only had 1…..and had a piece of the baklava that my daughter & I made for her Greek day at school (I saved 6 pieces so we all could try it tonight for dessert). Had to try it :) Hopefully I won’t be up another lb. from all this fattening stuff…..

....spent 2 nights away and wasn’t in charge of the cooking. I know I gained and will be bummed to get on the scale in the morning (sob). I did have a great time, though, so at least I enjoyed myself in my gluttony!!

Back on the wagon!
