I’ve taken three years of classes; I’d put myself at “intermediate.” Intermediate is a hard place to be. I’m a perfectionist when it comes to things like this; I want to be able to read, comprehend and work with anything in Japanese in the same way that I can do with English, and that’s when I’ll consider myself fluent.
So… I have a long ways to go!
