meet my soul mate

i think it’s not the magical connection you see in movies…its sometimes crazy hard work to love someone well, and we all do it badly at times. but when two people both feel strongly enough to do that hard work for one another, to fail miserably together but persist, to risk their hearts getting hurt, to soak up the good like hot sunshine and survive the ugly…that’s magic, that’s how i know soul mates really do exist.

i don’t only want this, i expect this, i believe in this oddly enough. Mitch Albom wrote, “love is the only rational act.” And Jon Lenon, all britishy and genius said, “all you need is love.” both of them are completely true, neither of them refers to a mate. still, it seems like good, intense training for the rest of the world around you, that soul mate thing.

the man in my life right now could be this very thing, it’s true. then again i could be hideously, horrible wrong, that has happened before. shit.
