Lead my Toastmasters Club to Greatness

I can now close this goal. Tops Toastmasters has achieved the president distinguished award. I too was awarded the Distinguished Toastmasters.

My next project is my second DTM, and the president’s distinguish for my area.

This is why TOPS Toastmasters is a proud member of District 75, also known as Philippine Toastmasters. There are less than 200 clubs in the Philippines and our aim as a club is to create a better toastmasters experience for all of our members.

It is likely that our members will join next year’s speech contest. It is also very possible that we will get into the District competition given the public speaking skills of our members. It is very likely that we will become Select Distinguished Club in February and Presidents Distinguished in March 2011 or earlier. It is not a question of whether we can because we will become. We will get the three membership awards too.

It is very likely that I will become DTM before this year ends, and Louie Banta and Avery Balboa and Casey Naanep and Ryan Cruz will become Advanced Leaders. It is even likely that we shall be able to charter a new club which we shall mentor.

But all of these are not the aim of TOPS as we help Philippine Toastmasters. What we want is to create a better Tops Toastmasters experience for all of our members who desire to become better impromptu speakers, better project speakers, better presenters, better evaluators, and better toastmasters every meeting. We do not desire to become the best toastmasters club in the Philippines today. We only desire to become a great club.

This is why we will welcome every opportunity to learn from each other. We will welcome anyone who desire to become confident in public speaking and learn the craft of leadership through TOPS Toastmasters. We will welcome growth at all levels. Because we only aim for greatness that will ensure a better toastmasters experience.

There are many clubs in Makati, Philippines. However, I can only mention two clubs that I can truly recommend for I have personally experienced their fun-filled and fruitful meetings.

Butter n Toast Toastmasters club meets on 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month. I do not belong to this club but people are really having fun in the club. They also have very caring veteran speakers.

Tops Toastmasters is the club where I am the president. Our difference with other clubs is the quality of our mentorship program. Our mentors are Louie Banta, Avery Banta, Jenny Monastrial, Jean Lim, Ryan Cruz, and Casey Naanep.

I am the club mentor.

This is one reason why I have the full confidence to invite every one who has the desire to improve their communication and leadership skills to visit TOPS toastmasters. I know that you will consider membership to the club once you see how we care for each other and each other’s growth. We were able to create the culture of excellence, integrity, service, and Malasakit.

For the past months, we have sign ups of at least two members for each meeting. I am even expecting four to sign up this week.

The Happy Feet meeting was a blast. We had two great speakers: Estelle and Ully and a very professional educational speaker Louie Banta.

I have also introduced a new program that will involve every member to leadership role. At the end of the meeting, I emphasize that that real aim of the club is not to become the best club. We aim to be a great club and we will do this by creating a better toastmasters meeting every time.

Estelle Osorio was great in her first TM of the evening role. Louie Banta guided as into a very solid and substantive evaluation. There were nine guests, and best evaluators in the club were all present. This is one of the best nights of TOPS TOASTMASTERS.

As president of the club, I intend to make every meeting a better toastmasters experience. Our next meeting will be on September 22. Between today and the next, I will be sharing with you some ideas on how we can further improve the experience of our members. Our best marketing strategy should be the sweet and delightful experience of learning and sharing. This we will achieve every meeting. We will not stop until good becomes better, and better becomes best.
