I’ve been singing with my church’s music praise and worship team regularly (twice on Sundays, and practice Wednesday evenings). After Sunday morning practice and morning service, I am sometimes a tiny bit hoarse. That’s not good. We use microphones, but I have a hard time hearing myself on the monitors; so, I likely end up singing louder than necessary. I’m making a conscious effort to sing from the diaphram (sp.?), and not strictly from the throat.

When we practice together, we sing various warm up exercises together. Then, one person plays the piano, while the other sings. We switch almost every other song. I’m hoping we do this more frequently. We sang and played music last night. Hooray!
i’ve taken some private vocal (singing) lessons and i’ve sung in a number of choirs, but i’m not super confident about my singing ability. i’d like to improve my vocal skills, to be more comfortable singing solo, and to get more vocal instruction.
