In being a relatively new mom, one of the greatest gifts I’ve given my daughter, so far, is breastfeeding her. The benefits are manifold. For instance, she didn’t get sick at all until she was nearly a year old. Not bad, eh? We shared a special bond, as a result of nursing, too. Anyways, I’m not sure when Isabella will be entirely weaned, but I’m checking this off for now.

Isabella’s one now (well, she turned one on Wednesday), and I’m still nursing her. I am in the process of weaning her, though. Still, it’s been a fabulous journey, one I didn’t expect to survive. Many thanks to people who supported and encouraged me through this new and challenging journey of breastfeeding.
and I’m still breastfeeding. but, I’m in the process of weaning her. she’s been nursing three times a day, up until yesterday. i’m aiming for two times a day.
Still going. Of course, she isn’t breastfeeding exclusively. She’s eating baby food. Am nursing four times a day, now. Am thinking about lessening it to three in the not-too-distant-future. We’ll see.
I can’t say that I breastfeed my daughter exclusively now, given that she eats baby food and limited table food (strawberries, bread, bananas, yogurt). But, I can say that she’s nursed five times a day.
Towards the end of May, while we were visiting family in Ohio, I got mastitis. I thought I was going to die, when I nursed her. It was enough that I was running a fever and vomiting. But, the pain from nursing while having mastitis was indescribable. Nevertheless, I was resolved to see Isabella past that and nurse her. Continue nursing I did. Mastitis is gone, and I’m taking a supplement, Lecithin. I haven’t had problems with clogged ducts since I started taking the supplements. Thank goodness.
I got mastitis Saturday. Not pretty. Not pretty at all. Cried because it was so painful. But I’m still nursing my little one. She’s eight months and two days old.
And she is still a non-formula fed baby. I can’t believe she’s seven months old and she’s been on breastmilk as her primary source of food. She is now eating baby food once or twice a day, so I can’t say she’s breastfed exclusively.
She’s been on a bottle strike for about a month now. I don’t get it. She’s had a bottle of my breastmilk three or more times a week since she was born. After our spring break started, on March 10, she decided she wasn’t interested in the bottle anymore. My husband tries to feed her when I’m at work, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Friday mornings. She refuses, and so, she’s without food from 6:45 AM to 11:45 AM.
Isabella’s six months old today, and she’s had my breastmilk exclusively. Yay! We’ll start introducing baby rice cereal, like her pediatrician recommended.
she’s 5 and a half months old now, and she’s had nothing but breastmilk. in fact, she’s not having breastmilk by bottle much anymore, just during the mornings when i’m still at work – mondays, wednesdays, and fridays. so, she’s having at most three feedings of breastmilk by bottle, in any given week. otherwise, she’s on the breast, nursing. i consider that progress and a feat worth celebrating. yay!!!
