I had a dog in high school, but she went to the great field in the sky while I was away at college. When I moved to a new city to start grad school, I thought for sure I’d get one then, but the real-estate market was so tight that the only place I could find wouldn’t take pets. Same with my second place in that same city. Now we’re in Japan and we can’t have a dog where we live, plus I wouldn’t want the dog to suffer through animal quarantine when we return to the States. Our new place in the States is also a no-pets place. But, someday (someday!), I WILL have a dog. A yellow or chocolate lab. I promise!
