This day, clouds were moving by at impressive speeds while those in the distance remained almost completely still. It’s the very edge of the remnants of Hurricane Ike, passing at 45 mph. About an hour after I took the picture, I lost power for the rest of the night.

I guess it’s not necessarily sunsets themselves that are that important to me. Mainly, it’s the fact that I want to appreciate more of the beauty of the world around me. I spend so much time inside stuck behind a computer or a textbook or a movie screen, and not enough time really living in the world out there. I need to do that. So sunsets – it’s a starting point.
