get a new car

and got the car today. Finally! I feel like I’m starting to head back to the path of normalcy.

Since I am still sans car, I canceled my own car insurance and put my name on my mom’s plan. Save $40 a month? Yes, please.

As it turned out, I had not two, but three tickets. I wasn’t aware of the third one. I don’t even understand this. A drunk totals my car. I get three tickets. She gets away scot-free. What the hell.
Fortunately, the three tickets were dismissed. The judge seemed a little irritated at the cop, and I kind of hope the cop got into a little trouble for it.
So it seems the majority of the havoc over this is done. Hooray.
Still, I have not found a car. I didn’t think it was going to be this hard.

Were there more sidewalks in New Jersey, I would buy a bike.

Tomorrow, I have to go to court. Apparently after my car was totaled, I got two tickets that I was unaware of. One was for abandonment of vehicle, the other for parking on the sidewalk. I kid you not.

Two months ago, my car was totaled by a drunk driver. I wasn’t in the car and no one in the other vehicle was hurt…but what a pain in the damn ass this has been. The drunk’s insurance covered the damage and I got a check for what my car was worth. Finding a car for that price has been impossible though. I bought this car a year ago and it was a breeze. Somehow, over only the span of a year, the prices of used cars has soared.
