I gave an easter basket and eggs to a lady from freecycle today. I even drove it over to her house and dropped it off.
It was for her neice who is staying the holiday with them and she did not have a basket for her. Afterwards, she emailed me a nice little note thanking me.

Thursday, I took my nephew overnight so my sister could sleep in before her surgery.
Friday, I had my nephew all day while my sister was in surgery.
Sunday, my sister called me hysterical…my nephew was having a seizure and she had called 911. I rushed there and took my other nephew overnight.
Sunday, a strange girl knocked on the glass of my car at the truck stop. I could see she had been crying. She asked if she could have money, that she had been stranded for hours, had no gas and no money, and just lived the next town over but could not get home. She told me she had been calling everyone she knew but couldn’t get anyone. She was young and pretty, probably in high school. I didn’t feel I was being hustled. I suppose she just hadn’t realized she was running low on gas until she was out. I felt bad for her…we’ve all been in a situation we could’ve avoided but didn’t…and we all need a bail-out now and then. I gave her five bucks and she got gas and left. I felt really good about that.
Monday, I had my nephew most of the day. He had to go home because he has school tomorrow. A friend of my sisters is going to get him there and back.
These are kind things you might think anyone would and should do… but I have had a history of not doing the things one should do for others. I am improving, through effort.
