I’ve slept through the night for the past week or so; therefore, I’m calling this goal realized.

I slept through the night until four in the morning for two nights in a row. Although I’m still not where I want to be on this, I’m pretty certain that I’m getting much closer.
I’m staying asleep longer, but I’m still not getting very much rest. I’m not sure, but I think exercise helps with this part of it—the restlessness.
I’d love to think I’m up because it’s early Christmas morning, but I can’t. I’ve been up around this time every night this week. It may be time to move away from sleepy meds and head towards a frying pan to the head! My head may not appreciate it, but it’ll have to learn to accept these sort of punishments for not allowing me to get enough sleep. Can’t let it get away with this for too much longer.
I slept through most of the night! I got up twice to go to the bathroom and grab some water, but I never started reading or playing on the computer. Also, I kept some water by my bed, so I was never really up for very long. This really worked! I actually feel rested and ready for the day.
I am soooooo excited about this!
Flipping on the computer when I can’t sleep may not be the answer I’m looking for, but it seems to be smarter than picking up a book. At least, if I pick up a book, I know I’m going to plow through multiple chapters (and possibly finish the entire book). I seem to know, therefore, what isn’t working, so I need to figure out what to do. I’m not especially inclined to watch the weather channel and bore myself back to sleep, but something quick and mindless may actually be the answer.
I was right: It was a broken water main. Evidently, someone mowed down a water hydrant and flooded a nearby stretch of highway, causing some of the local residents to lose their water. The sewage and water workers, along with the volunteer firemen, worked quickly and restored our waterworks with record speed. So . . . I did wash my face after all. :-)
Sleep may not come soon, tonight, as a watermain appears to have broken in my neighborhood. I’m trying not to be overly concerned, but I can’t help out. How they managed to break this thing in the pitch dark is a mystery that is making my mind spin in figure-eights. I will, however, quietly drink my tea and head to bed like the good girl I am. Even if it means I can’t wash my face tonight.
I was sleeping very well, until Emma jumped onto the bed and walked across my head. Once she jarred me awake, I was up. Now, I’m playing on here, hoping that I’ll get back to sleep again sometime soon. I also hope I’ll get back into the the good rest I was getting. For not sleeping well over the last couple of weeks, this was the best sleep I can remember getting. I want more!
It’s coming up on 1:30 and I’m here, typing on 43things.com, wondering why the hell I can’t get some sleep. Truthfully, I did everything i was supposed to do to get some rest: I went to bed and decent time after taking some sleepy meds; I kicked the cats out of my room; I made the room dark and comfy; I shut my damn eyes and let myself drift off. Then, I woke up and couldn’t get back to sleep. I figured if I came on here and emptied my brain a bit, I’d be able to get back to bed.
