find new music

I have a rather varied music collection, ranging from extremely independent musicians to single songs by artists to more mainstream bands. A few weeks before I moved away for college, my car was broken into & my iPod & CD collection of over 300 discs were stolen. The police found my CD collection a few towns away, but only 99 discs remained, & they are all in terrible condition. I eventually got another iPod.. just to have that one stolen as well. Since then, I’ve been wary of even looking for new music, & all of the old indie songs I could never remember are now lost with my stolen iPods. I want to regain that identity of being the person you go to for music, of having the cool new songs you’ll hear in movies months later, of knowing bands & song titles by someone humming one bar.
