Slimfast week 9 2 years ago

I haven’t checked in in a while. I am starting to get frustrated. My weight has been completely static for the last 4 weeks at 155. I have been running pretty hard and while googling i found some message board discussions that said when you are running and training pretty intensely (20+ mpw) weight will remain pretty static despite low calorie intake and igh calorie output – something about your body trying to conserve energy. ugh.

So, I have decided to get a little more meticulous than slim fast – i joined sparkpeople.com and have been logging all of my food. I will still probably have the shakes for breakfast as i find them delicious and they have alot of nutrition, but as i found out by logging my food, what i thought was a 200 calorie lunch, was actually more like 400…so the leak has been found.

I am still not optimistic about losing weight until i de-intensify my running workout, so i have 6 weeks left to train for my 5k, then i will ease off for a few weeks and see if i can get my weight down at that point.

I’m still pretty bummed about the lack of weight loss.

this week wasn’t so great – i completely didn’t fell off the diet yesterday, and the rest of the week was so-so. Static on the scale again for me this week

I need to get back on track. 155 has always been my “comfortable ” weight – i don’t want to settle for that anymore. i know these last 10 lbs will be much tougher than the first. i need to complete this goal!

ok, things seemed to get back on track this week despite the large amount of beer on new years eve.

week 4 of slim fast. still going, and i’ve been running alot more lately (5 times this week – 4×4miles, 1×3 miles)

this week was horrible – office christmas party, christmas shopping frenzy w/ fast food stops, cookie baking—ugh. i only lost 1 pound.

on the plus side, i ran 4 miles this morning without walking, which i have never done before. hopefully that signifies a start to a better week than last.

i have been on slimfast for 2 weeks. i pretty much follow their breakfast and lunch plans, and then have been eating anything i want for dinner, just until i’m full. i could be eating healthier, but thats a whole different goal. I have cut out snacking, which definitely helps.

i have been excercising, too, but not as hardcore as wk 1. less running and more pickup basketball, but i guess being a little active is better than nothing.

well, week 1 of slim-fast i am down two pounds to 163. I thought i would lose more the first week, but i guess this weight will be harder to lose than i thought. I am really enjoying the slim-fast shakes, and i am not so hungry anymore. typical daily menu includes:

breakfast – 1 shake
snack – granola bar
lunch 1 shake + either 1 slice of cheese pizza, small bowl of pasta w/ marinara, or half pbj sandwich
dinner – whatever we are having, but only a portion that will fit in a medium bowl
sometimes after dinner i will have a piece of fruit for dessert.

i probably need to eat more veggies.

in addition to this, last week i worked out sun, mon, thurs, fri. generally i run at least 2 miles. on monday i did 4 (i am really proud of that!)

hoping this week goes even better.



starting this goal 3 years ago

i got married 6 months ago and have gained 10 lbs since. I religiously work out at least 3 times a week for an hour (generally running, or sometimes other cardio), and have been doing this for over a year. I have no idea how the 10lbs creeped up on me – but i want to lose it + another 10. I started slim fast 3 days ago and so far so good. I do feel hungry all the time, but thats supposed to get better, right? I really enjoy the slim fast shakes – i thought they would be gross but they taste like chocolate milk. starting weight = 165lbs.
