celebrate today

Mandy and I decorated up the house with a bunch of blinking, flashing pumpkins and lights, and our house is pretty tacky with the decor, actually- and it’s great! If I was a kid, I’d totally hit that house first. I love Halloween:) Also, I got a LOT of stuff accomplished today, like scheduling an eye appointment and registering some things online while I was at work. And my mother-in-law gave us a new stove for Sara’s birthday! I can’t wait to bake a chicken! But not today- today I’m making something delicious for dinner in the new stove, but that won’t take so long, and treating myself and the fam to some wine for a productive day well done today and yesterday:D

I celebrate having made it halfway through the week, relatively unscathed:P I’ve finished my overtime work a bit early, and now I can play online a little. I actually made it to the bank to get my insurance check for my dentist deposited (I work those hours, but my best friend was home today, and could let the dogs out for me), and there was cake at work today. Cake and ice cream is underrated! Why do we only eat it on our birthdays? Why not Happy Wednesday- here’s some cake! It’s worth eating that light sandwich to have some cake:D My cold is finally going away, and I’ve been drinking hot tea like a fiend:) So hurray for all of that!

We are very temporary, in every way- I see so many people sleep walking through their live, and I’m guilty of it myself at times. It’s important to bring joy into every single day, because (as I rip off some quote somewhere), this isn’t a dress rehearsal. So I’m going to do something, however small, to celebrate everyday. Yesterday, I painted flames on my graffitti wall, and set up a giant blow-up ghost in the front yard for Halloween with my girlfriend and my best friend. We have THE tackiest yard- and hell, why not? The kids will love it! And it makes me happy to come home and see that obnoxiously huge pumpkin with a ghost coming out of it glowing in the dark:)
