I think we all have our limitations, but I’d like to think that I am as open-minded as is reasonably, humanly possible. For instance, it’s not very likely that anyone could ever convince me to convert to being ultra-conservative politically because there are too many beliefs and practices currently associated with that status (blurring the separation of church and state, trying to take away reproductive rights, general stance against gay rights, etc) with which I disagree. I don’t generally seek out the company or opinions of people who hold these beliefs, however, if I met someone that seemed interesting and this sort of discussion came up, I would certainly hear out his/her reasoning. Depending on my hypothetical person’s logic, I might or might not choose to engage in [hopefully healthy] debate about the topics. In any case, I would do my best to listen with an open mind because I do believe that everyone is entitled to their beliefs (as long as they do not force them upon others), but I am also freely admitting here that there are certain beliefs from which I know that I cannot be swayed – therein lies the limitation to being truly open-minded, I think.
I do have a laissez-faire attitude about life and I am a great listener. One of my biggest dreams/goals is to travel the world and if I were independently wealthy, I’d be a professional student, so I’d say for myself, all signs point to open-minded :-D
