Hey to everyone doing this one. ;)
None of our cats our declawed, though only one of them is mine. When I was thinking about moving my cat to a place where he could do damage I started looking into alternatives. I found soft paws which are hard plastic nails (that are curved) that can be glued over cats nails instead of declawing, so they CAN’T so any damage.
I did post about this in my livejournal, which quite a few people read so that contributes a bit to the cause. Plus I do tell people who bring up this topic about them and other alts.
Right now however, the cats (3) are scratching away and happy, we have two scratching posts, and two cardboard scratching pads as well. Occasionally my cat scratches my mattress, but… I don’t really give a shit. oh well.
