learn to ride a horse

went on my first real ride last week – it was fun. the only thing is that although i alone was riding the horse, the horse was an old camp horse who just merely followed the horses in front of it on the well-known path, so i didnt have to do much. my end-goal is to be able to learn to handle any kinda of mount confidently. so at least this was a good first stepping-stone. maybe sign up for real lessons this fall or next summer.

my b/f says he is lining up free riding lessons for me at the camp he worked at for this summer – that would be super! ^_ we’ll see if it all wks out

i’ve been wanting to do this since i was lil. there have been maybe 2-3 chances that arose thru time where it looked like i’d be able to learn

(my neighbors, but they sold the horse the year i was old enough to – a friend of my sister’s, but i dont live in that area anymore – and a lady whose daughter i rode the bus with, but never worked out the details of when i could come over, and they lived too far for me to walk there)

so still have yet to learn, as one can tell. im sure another chance will come along sooner or later.
