Improve my geography

When was I supposed to learn where the countries are and their forms of government and their culture and religion? Was there someone in my primary education that was supposed to have taught me that? Because if there was, I need to find that person and kick him/her in the ass a few times. Being a product of the public school system, such as I am, I find it most reasonable to lay blame for my abysmal ignorance at the feet of one of several social studies “teachers” who were really no more than basketball or football coaches who were forced into the role of molding young minds. Regardless of where I went wrong, I’m learning how truly, truly awful my geography (and culture and political and religious) knowledge is. And it really must be remedied. No more excuses. Just one country a week until I get through the most interesting ones. Then on to the ones I really don’t know anything about. I’m going basically alphabetically. Afghanistan was last week. I’ll decide tomorrow what this week will be.
