I’ve been craving Chinese food lately. This is a simple Cantonese dish with many varations. I basically used the vegetables I had at hand: carrots, snow peas, mushrooms (cantharellus tubeaformis; not sure what they’re called in English) and daikon. I love oyster sauce.

I have no idea what “can bian ngan” means and the phrase didn’t generate any matches when I googled it. According to the recipe, however, it’s a Muslim style Chinese dish. It consists of pan-fried, crispy beef strips (I used ground beef) and sweet chili sauce. Served with rice. I don’t know if the recipe I used is very authentic, but it was new to me, very simple and quite tasty in a straightforward salty-sweet-beefy kind of way.
