(I’m taking that cheer as a sign of approval)
As we approach the September 17th anniversary of our nation’s most precious, and yet most fundamental document, now is a good time to reflect on the Blessings and Protections it holds, as well as the Unity diligently designed to encompass the American citizenry.
When I was in elementary school, we were taught the Preamble and, every morning, recited it right after the Pledge of Allegiance. Sometimes a kid would say “Amen” at the end and everyone would giggle, but looking back at that now, it occurs to me that we all knew it was a sacred record.
That’s the America I grew up in.
