how to improve your surfing 4 years ago

I have surfed for 40 years, and at the age of 54, am still improving my surfing all the time in the big, gnarly, 6 to 12 foot overhead waves in Santa Cruz. I bought a light 9 foot Yater epoxy, and have mastered it so it rides (to me, at least,) like a big short board!
Bought “Fit to Surf” by local author Rocky Snyder, and the strength training and agility drills designed for surfing that I regularly perform have really worked. I run, and do stretches, for endurance and flexibility training, respectively. They work.
Log onto www.surfline.com, and follow the advice they give to help you improve your surfing! Follow the three Ls: Look, Listen and Learn, that they talk about.
I am not a competiitive surfer who will turn your head if you see me surf, but when your 20 year old son, a hot surfer of 11 years, who is very stingy with compliments, tells you that you just shreaded Rincon, Pleasure Point, and other great breaks in overhead conditions, you know what you feel inside about yourself is true! My other surfing friends also compliment me.
Best advice: practice; surf as much as you can and always keep a positive attitude, even when it is crowded. Keep educating yourself like I did with books, research online, and by simply looking / observing the waves and how the great surfers ride them!
never stop surfing,
lsbsurf
